Doing SDR on a Lightly Used iMac

I started around Christmas time to buid all the dependencies for gqrx on my iMac running OSX 10.7.5.  Well I started off with a bunch of build problems and thanks to the guys over at MacPorts, I was able to work around all of them and have all the dependencies and gqrx built. Well I was thinking I’d be in SDR listening heaven when I launched the gqrx app the first time and after a few very long seeming seconds, I was a little disappointed when I got a crash screen. Found out that one dependency, GNU Radio, was not working right. So after verifying that it was a problem that was isolated to GNU Radio, I’ve submitted a bug report and am now digging into some python code with the developers trying to see what broke under the hood. That’s going to be an interesting adventure since, I’m an admittedly rusty C++ and C# developer. With no prior experience in phython.
